Hello! We hope you’re enjoying the fall weather, and preparing for the upcoming holiday season. Spending time with family, watching football, seeing friends ndash; these little things make big differences in our lives. It was the “little things” we were thinking of when we rolled out the most recent version of the Hello Health platform. We made so many small updates and enhancements to Hello Health, we had to give it a special name at HH HQ: ImprovementFest! And those “little” changes went a very long way! All of our recent upgrades were based on suggestions and requests from you, the Hello Health User Community. The work we’re doing is inspired by the work you do, every day. We’re hoping you’ll make use of the Hello Health User Community and Exchange, detailed below. It’s a way for us to learn from you, and a way you can learn from your professional community using Hello Health around the country.

We know it’s something our customers have been waiting for: an easy-to-use, complete clinical and medical billing solution that is free and well-suited for small- to medium-sized independent medical practices. Log in and Speak up
Our new Exchange forum, part of the updated Hello Health Support site, is a place for all members of our user community to ask questions, share opinions and, hey, let off some steam about your daily dealings with patients, practitioners and technology. We’re all in this together, after all. The Exchange is a new feature and we’ve kicked it off with a few starter topics, but we want this to be a place that you feel welcome to open your own discussions. Our Support team will be around to answer questions and address any needs that arise. This is how we learn from each other – through quick questions, newsflashes, deep dives and, frankly, the occasional rant. Our User Community is made up of diverse professionals from all practice sizes and types, all across the U.S. It’s good to know you’re not alone, right?

When did you join Hello Health?
What is an opportunity/challenge that you face every day in your job?
My favorite challenge is getting humans and machines to play nicely together. These are two extreme opposites that, by nature, should not work together at all. But when they do, they have incredible potential. My favorite “tech quote” is from Steve Jobs: “it’s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our heart sing.” This is why I love my job. Seeing the realized potential when a brilliant doctor and a great product like Hello Health can provide the highest level of care for a patient. It is amazing -- even more so when months earlier that provider was telling me how much they hate computers and how they are overwhelmed with the thought of learning a new system. Most people did not go into medicine to use computers. I have a tremendous amount of respect for those who take on the challenge of implementing a new system that will improve their practice and enjoy working with my team to help them achieve this goal.
What is something you’d like all Hello Health customers to know about HH?
I like to tell everyone that we are a team. Everyday, we are in this together. We are not a product that you buy and take home and then never hear from us again. We want to see you succeed. Even if you are a small operation, the day you implement Hello Health you have added our whole crew to your practice and we have added you to our group. We would not be in business without each person that has a login to Hello Health, and we all work to help you succeed. We have been there with practices during sickness and hurricanes, and they have been there with us through bugs and server latencies. So, as I tell each new Hello Health user when I meet them, it’s great to have you on the team.

National Increase in e-RX
E-prescriptions are on the rise among the medical community, and not by just a little. According to a study published by the American Journal of Managed Care, e-prescribing by physicians increased an amazing 41 percent between 2008 and 2012. This means that just over half of all American physicians are utilizing e-prescriptions on a regular basis, with more expected to follow. Via HiTech Answers.
Medicaid Pay for Primary Care Now at Medicare Levels
The health insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) may have stumbled out of the gate this month, but another aspect of the law is finally on track: As required, Medicaid programs in nearly every state have raised physician reimbursement for primary care to Medicare levels.
